Located at the foot of the Sonnenberg, lies the small, idyllic village of Goldrain, a district of the market town of Latsch in the Vinschgau in the South Tyrolean Alps. The sunny village lies on both sides of the Etsch at 650 m above sea level.

The quiet village of 1000 inhabitants offers all basic services for daily needs such as a grocery store, bank, post office and several bars and restaurants, all within easy walking distance and with ideal connections to the public transport network. Families enjoy a kindergarten and a primary school in the village.

Goldrain is the perfect place for people who want to enjoy plenty of peace and sunshine; who appreciate the ideal starting point for cycling and hiking tours in nature and at the same time do not want to miss out on the convenience of ideal connections to the public transport network (Vinschgerbahn, SS 38 and cycle path).

There are hardly any limits to the variety of leisure activities here: you can let off steam on the village's own sports field and then relax with a relaxing fish at the Quellensee. For those who love adventure, there is a lot to discover both by bike and on foot.

Goldrain is an ideal starting point for sporting activities in all four seasons: the Goldrain Panorama Trail, the Vinschgau High Trail and the Mountain Trail are just a few of the numerous options. For enthusiastic winter sports enthusiasts, the Sulden and Watles ski areas as well as the Schnalstal glacier area are very close by, and on the other side of the valley, the Martell Valley, known for its cross-country skiing opportunities in winter and its delicious strawberries in summer, invites you to linger.

Also worth mentioning is the namesake of the village: “Goldrain Castle”, a magnificent castle in Renaissance style, which is now used as an educational center.

The nearest larger towns, Schlanders and Latsch, can be reached in just a few minutes by bike or car. Schlanders in particular has a lot to offer with its beautiful pedestrian zone, restaurants and shops.

According to legend, there were gold mines under an old farm ruin in Goldrain a long time ago. Now, if you decide to buy a property in Goldrain, you probably won't find any gold, but it's still the right decision and living in Goldrain is worth its weight in gold.
